Hello everyone,
I've decided this year to go ahead and try to integrate NationStates into my classroom as an ongoing background feature. This is in contrast to my previous uses, where I used it quite heavily within a social studies classroom. I have primarily taught science for a number of years, and have been hesitating getting it going until now.
I plan to use it within my classes as a quick starter discussion at the beginning of some classes, with each issue being given to the appropriate class (for example, I have one on animal rights lined up for my Biology 40 class). For this year, I'm only going to do a few graded discussions toward the latter half of each semester, so we have some time to build up to what a good discussion looks like.
I am looking forward to this different kind of implementation. Are any of you planning on trying NationStates out in your classrooms this year? If so, let us know how!
